Earn 3x credit card points with my favorite advertising credit card

As I’ve shown in recent income reports, as an author, I spend thousand dollars a month on Amazon Advertising, for my self-published books. Not only do I earn a good return on my investment in the form of more book sales, but I also earn 3x points for each of those dollars. Here’s a recent bonus point earning:

I also earn on any other advertising on which I spend, including Bookbub advertising:

and Facebook advertising.

Okay, so I don’t spend near as much on Bookbub ads and Facebook ads as I do on Amazon ads. Fortunately, the Chase Ink Business Preferred is also a 3x points on travel credit card. I earn 3x points on airfare.

Also, on hotels.

In fact, I earn 3x points on the first $150,000 I spend each year in these categories:

And I earn 1 point per dollar I spend in all other categories. You can also earn by making purchases through Chase’s shopping portal. Some partner merchants reward you as much as 30 points per dollar (, or 20 points per dollar for

Earn free travel or airline miles with your credit card points

What can I do with these points? Personally, I like to use them for travel. Each point is worth roughly 1.25 cents toward airfare. That might not sound like a lot, but it adds up. For every $10,000 I spend on advertising, that amounts to about $375 in free airfare. Since you can earn the extra 2 points on up to $150,000 year, for 450,000 points, that’s as much as $5,625 in free airfare per year when booking through Chase’s travel portal.

That’s a lot of airfare, but you can stretch your points even further by transferring them to travel partners. At the time of this writing, you can transfer your points to airline miles in these frequent flyer programs, on a 1:1 basis (1 point = 1 mile):

I recently booked a flight on American Airlines by instantly transferring 35,000 points to British Airways Executive Club Avios, then booking the flight there. The flight was going for $815, so my points ended up being worth 2.3¢ each – about double what they’re usually worth booking directly through Chase.

If you don’t know what to do with all of those points, you can also spend them on hotels, rental cars, cruises, and activities – such as a hot-air balloon ride. You can also redeem for gift cards and purchases at places like Amazon, Apple, Home Depot, and many more.
